Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis  It’s time to tie your shoes and start walking! On Friday, April 28th the Respiratory Therapy program at Carteret Community College will host its annual Walk for Cystic Fibrosis, "Great Strides 5K" Registration begins on campus at 12:30 p.m. near the parking lot in front of the McGee Building and a minimum $10.00 donation is requested.  The walk starts at 1 p.m. and participants will follow the newly completed walking trail around campus before continuing east to 25th Street and returning back to campus.  The event is open to the community. Children in strollers and dogs on leashes may join the walk, as well. Carteret CC Trustees Announces Barwick Award Winner Morehead City, N.C. (April 19, 2023) - At its meeting on April 12, 2023, the Carteret Community College Board of Trustees selected Mrs. Janet Eshleman as the recipient of the 2023 Dr. Joseph T. Barwick Civic Award for her 30 years of service, support, and commitment to Carteret County. Janet and her late husband, Jim, moved to Morehead City in 1992. Over the course of the next 30 years, Janet dedicated herself to community service and became known for her “fundraising wizardry.” As a member of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, she helped raise many thousands of dollars between 1996 and 2003.  After such success, Janet took her talent to the Carteret County Historical Society where she served as president from 2003 to 2013 until she retired...

Renewable Energy Symposium How do you plan to celebrate Earth Week? What better way than to learn more about renewable energy! On Thursday, April 20th from 1-6 p.m., Carteret Community College is co-sponsoring a Renewable Energy Symposium with the NC Sierra Club and NC Interfaith Power and Light. Third Installment in “Carteret Links” Lecture Series Morehead City, N.C. (March 20, 2023) – On March 22, 2023, the third installment of the Carteret Links health education lecture series will focus on vaping and associated health risks. Carteret CC Holds National Anthem Auditions Morehead City, N.C. (March 6, 2023) - Carteret Community College will hold open auditions to find a performer for the Nation Anthem at its 59th College Graduation, Award’s Night Ceremony, and Basic Skills Graduation this coming May. Auditions are open to the public and will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. in Joslyn Hall in the McGee Building on campus. (February 14, 2023) - Carteret Community College will celebrate its 26th Annual Black History Celebration on February 20 at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center. Carteret CC Earns National Accreditation for EMS Program Morehead City, N.C. (February 14, 2023) – The Emergency Medical Science program at Carteret Community College has achieved national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) with no citations or violations noted. “Being accredited demonstrates that our program is consistent with the national standards for paramedic programs,” stated Christine Turner, chair of the Carteret CC EMS program. “In other words, our students are receiving the best education possible, and it will allow them to test for the National Registry, which means they can find employment as paramedics anywhere in the United States, and even in some regions overseas.” In addition to receiving national accreditation, the EMS program...
