Carteret Community College’s Public Safety Training Facility at 241 Laurel Road, Beaufort, North Carolina will provide for height training, shipboard firefighting and additional facilities maneuvering for students in the Crystal Coast Fire Academy and members of partner agencies including municipal and county fire departments, the NC Ferry Division, US Coast Guard, and maritime workforce. The facility offers a safe, controlled learning environment that simulates actual emergency response situations to prepare and offer continued training credits to students and professionals.
LIVE FIRE BURNS
The Crystal Coast Fire Academy conducts two (2) Class A fire simulations during each academy. The fires are carefully monitored, and circumstances must meet stringent wind, weather, materials, and oversight criteria. Other agencies who request to use the Public Safety Training Facility must schedule their training through the College. The College will secure the participation of a certified instructor to oversee training. The same restrictions regarding wind, weather, materials, and oversight will apply.
