Art – Mixed Media

Learn to draw, paint, or use watercolor; whatever medium you like. Open to beginners and experienced artists. First time students should bring a sketch pad and pencils or project they would like to work on. This class is self-paced with guidance as needed. Art Your Heart Out – Art Journaling 101

This course will teach the basics of art journaling, from what an art journal is, what is needed to make one, as well as tips and techniques on making pages and backgrounds. During each class, students will assemble the beginning pages of a journal per student for a project that can be continued at home and on their own time. Students should bring a notebook or journal with pencil or pen to first class.

Art: Intuitive Painting

This is a creative process with art, meditation and mindfulness. Students will learn how to engage in intuitive expression freestyle painting and focus on the creative process. This class is not about fine art, painting lessons, or the end result. This course will help you make the connection between intuitive thinking and the creative process in a space free from negativity, judgment and criticism. Students will practice meditation/mindfulness at the beginning of each class and progress to focus on how to embrace your intuition. Use your creative spark and put paint to paper/canvas with your intuition to guide you. This is a JUDGMENT FREE ZONE and lots of interaction and play is encouraged! Be prepared to use your hands and non-painting tools to push your self-expression to its fullest!

Refining basic bidding and play of cards; modern conventions, when to draw trumps (or not), opening leads; planning the play and defense; second round bidding and play; and slam bidding. Bridge Advanced – Duplicate

Students will learn topics for the advanced bridge player, including Two-Over-One Forcing, modern conventions, and better counting and visualization to take more tricks. This is an advanced class and students must have either taken Bridge for Beginners and Bridge – Intermediate or have years of experience in successfully playing Bridge.

Calligraphy – Copperplate Workshop, Introduction to

Learn the art of ornamental handwriting to create modern pieces by using the copperplate style of calligraphy and the tools required to create this style. Students will practice, critique and complete at least one project. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to: identify copperplate calligraphy; demonstrate basic skills in letter formation; and utilize new skills in a simple, original calligraphy project. Recommended book: Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy by Eleanor Winters.

Raising Chickens 101

Students will learn the basic fundamentals of raising chickens at home. Includes breeds, chicken coops, hatching methods, feeds and hands-on experience.
