The class is open to interested community members, particularly small business owners, property owners, local government officials, real estate agents, developers, agricultural interests, aquaculturists, and fisher folk (harvesting shrimp, oysters, crab, clams as commercial fishing or small family-run businesses).

This course will cover all aspects of shellfish aquaculture production. It will introduce students to shellfish farming techniques, strategies, the steps of obtaining a shellfish lease, and starting a business in North Carolina.
This course includes dates on Tuesday Evenings from 3/7- 4/25 and Saturdays: 3/25, 4/1, 4/15, 4/22 from 10am-5pm with an hour break for lunch. No class on the Saturday prior to Easter.
