Academic Support is located in the Henry McGee building, room 102. Within the suite are rooms for tutoring and studying, rooms for testing, and a Writing Center with several computers. Tutors are available in a variety of subjects, and daily schedules of these qualified tutors are available in the center and online. Click on the tutoring tab on the left to find the schedules. Academic Support offers tutoring in various subjects including Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Computers, Math, Spanish, and Writing. Tutoring is free to students. Students are required to fill out a Request for Tutoring packet.
Academic Support also offers online tutoring through Thinkingstorm! Again, free to students and allows for assistance even if students are unable to come to the college for tutoring.
Work-study jobs in tutoring are available for qualified students. Anyone who is interested in the program can obtain information from Brenda Long or Lori Wrenn in the Financial Aid Office in the Henry McGee building.
These jobs are a way of earning extra money, while sharing knowledge in a special subject with other students.
