Associate in Arts/Science

Associate in Arts (AA) / Associate in Science (AS)

60 semester hours of credit

Based on the 2014 Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, Carteret CC graduates of the Associate in Arts and the Associate in Science programs will be granted admission to at least one of the UNC institutions. Carteret CC graduates must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in order to transfer with a junior status.

Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts

60 semester hours of credit

The Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts program focuses on developing seamless transfer for students who begin visual arts studies at CCC and then transfers to one of the UNC BFA visual arts programs. To be eligible for the transfer of credits under the AFAVA to the BFA, CCC graduates must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Associate in Engineering

60 semester hours of credit

The Associate in Engineering (AE) degree provides required general education and prerequisite courses that will aid in meeting the entrance requirements to all UNC Bachelor of Engineering programs. To be eligible for the transfer of credits under the AE to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering agreement, CCC graduates must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Associate in Teacher Preparation

60 semester hours of credit

The Uniform Articulation Agreement in Teacher Preparation is intended to provide smooth transfer for community college students who wish to continue their education in teacher preparation at constituent institutions. The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) and the Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (ICAA) enables North Carolina community college graduates who are admitted to constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina and to Signatory Institutions of North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities to transfer with junior status. Community college graduates must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale in order to transfer with a junior status.
