Grants
Grants are money you don’t have to repay (unless you withdraw from your courses). Carteret Community College administers the following federal and state grant programs.
Quick Links
Federal Pell Grant (PELL)
The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree (medicine, law, dentistry, etc.). The amount of Pell Grant you receive is based on the information you provided on your FAFSA, and the number of classes you take.
Learn more about the Federal Pell Grant, including the maximum award amounts and limits, on the Pell Grant limits, at Federal Student Aid.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant is awarded to students with exceptional financial need. FSEOG funds are limited, and priority is given to students who receive a Federal Pell Grant with an Expected Family Contribution of zero. Eligibility for FSEOG is determined with the data reported on the FAFSA. FSEOG recipients at ACC must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and must have a Pell Grant. Summer recipients must be enrolled for the entire semester. Learn more about the FSEOG at Federal Student Aid.
