Step 1: Complete Your NC Residency Determination
This MUST be done first as you’ll need the Residency Certification Number for the admissions application. Click the link below to access the NC RDS website and fill out the form. Remember to write down your RCN when they assign it!
Step 2: Complete Your Carteret CC Application
Do you have your Residency Certification Number? Good – you’re ready for step two. Click below to visit the CFNC website and complete the Carteret CC application.
ATTENTION - Students who do not intend to complete a degree, diploma or certificate from Carteret Community College should apply as “Special Credit/Non-Degree Seeking” students. Carteret CC assumes no responsibility for determining a student’s course selection when the credits are to be transferred elsewhere. It is the special credit student’s responsibility to confirm course transferability. It is assumed that advising is done with the visiting student’s home institution.
Step 3: Find Your Classes
Search offered courses. Note any requirements (“Requisite Courses”) that must be taken in order to enroll in desired course.
Step 4: Do you meet the Requirements?
Check with your university to confirm that the course you are requesting is equivalent to the course you need.
Step 5: Acceptance Letter / Submit Your Request Form
The Acceptance Letter from the Admissions Office will provide you the link for the Registration Request Form. If the class you need has a pre-requisite, make sure to attach a copy of the transcript showing the final grade for that pre-requisite to the registration request so the advisor can follow up on your request.
Step 6: Get your Student ID
You must have a Student ID to access your student email, Carteret Compass, Moodle and other online services.
