Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassadors program aims to produce student leaders who will represent and promote Carteret CC to prospective students and families and to the community by creating a positive first and lasting impression through their service to the college in the following ways:

  • Educating prospective students, families, school personnel and other campus visitors on the programs available at the college to assist with increasing awareness of college opportunities
  • Informing prospective students of the steps to enroll to assist with increasing enrollment at the college
  • Building awareness of the resources available for current students to assist with increasing engagement at the college
  • Developing leadership skills to enhance their educational, personal and professional success

Students must meet the following requirements to be an ambassador:

  • Currently enrolled at Carteret CC
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Completed at least 10 semester hours
  • Attend mandatory information session

They must meet the following requirements to maintain eligibility:

  • Be enthusiastic, driven, creative, and friendly.
  • Possess excellent written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
  • Positively represent the college.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of current and prospective students.
  • Work well with in a team environment
  • Must participate in all Ambassador training activities
  • Commit to a 4 hour shift each week between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday as assigned by the Coordinator of Student Life.
  • Assist at mandatory events, such as graduations and Open Houses
  • Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours in both the Fall and Spring semester.
  • Have an unweighted 3.0 grade point average from their most recent institution (high school, transferring from another college, etc.).
  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Not serve as a Student Government Association officer during the academic year of appointment (SA and SGA positions both require significant time).
