MLK Day STEAM Camp
Carteret Community College is thrilled to offer “School’s Out STEAM (S.O.S.) Youth Camps” in 2025. The S.O.S. Youth Camps are provided on teacher workdays, school holidays, and breaks when parents may still need educational and fun childcare options for their students.
Join us for an inspiring STEAM camp designed specifically for 5th graders on Tuesday, January 21! This engaging school holiday camp will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by highlighting the many innovations and contributions of Black individuals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Throughout the camp, participants will explore the achievements of remarkable Black innovators and thinkers, delving into their groundbreaking work and the impact it has had on society. Through hands-on activities, interactive projects, and collaborative challenges, campers will not only learn about these influential figures but also develop their own creativity and problem-solving skills.
The camp will feature engaging workshops, guest speakers, and team-based projects that encourage exploration and innovation. Campers will have the opportunity to work on STEAM projects that reflect the principles of equality, justice, and creativity championed by Dr. King.
Join us in fostering a passion for learning and an appreciation for diverse contributions in STEAM. Together, we’ll inspire the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders! Don’t miss the chance to be a part of this unique educational experience!
