ELEVATE Invites You to Become a Team Champion

Join the team of Elevators!

As part of our ongoing commitment to cultivating and maintaining a respectful environment where each individual feels welcome to participate in the life of the college, we are excited to extend an invitation to you to join our ELEVATE team (Empowerment for Learning, Equity, Vision, Awareness and TEamwork). This team will include staff, faculty and students who are passionate about cultural awareness and inclusivity.

At Carteret Community College, we recognize and value diversity in our community. Our team and the college are committed to:

• Treating one another with respect and dignity;
• Promoting a learning and working community characterized by transparency, understanding, and civility; and
• Encouraging curriculum and teaching strategies, support services, policies , and personnel practices that reflect openness to ideas, peoples, and cultures.

We aim to create a welcoming and supportive space for all members of our community and strive for accountability as evidenced through action, reflection and ongoing improvement.

Currently, the ELEVATE team has a steering committee that meets quarterly and an advisory team that meets monthly. At this time, we would like to expand our team to include ELEVATE champions, or ELEVATORS, to champion this work across our campus.  As a participant on the ELEVATE team you will have the opportunity to:

• Engage in meaningful discussions and workshops focused on Empowerment for Learning, Equity, Vision, Awareness and Teamwork across our campus (ELEVATE).
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusivity across our campus and align with the college’s mission statement.
• Access resources and training materials and best practices to enhance your understanding of Empowerment for Learning, Equity, Vision, Awareness and Teamwork through an inclusivity lens.

Whether you are passionate about advocating for underrepresented groups, interested in learning more about diversity topics, or simply want to contribute to building a more inclusive community, we welcome your participation and involvement.
