Carteret Community College Earns 2022-2023 Military Friendly® School Designation

Military Friendly 22-23 Gold logoMorehead City, N.C. (March 17, 2022) – Carteret Community College announced today that it was award the Gold rank status as a 2022–2023 Military Friendly® School. Carteret CC was award gold for their leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. The Military Friendly® Schools survey is the longest-running most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey with 665 earning awards level designation in Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Nationwide only 25 community colleges received the gold rank status, of which only five were in North Carolina.

“We are honored to serve military and veteran students and their families and to have earned Gold rank status,” said Dr. Tracy Mancini, President of Carteret Community College. “Through services such as our Veteran Student Success Center, VA and GI Bill funding assistance, and priority registration, our faculty and staff aim to make the college experience positive and productive for individuals who have given their time and service to our nation.”

The 2022–2023 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey responses and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based assessment. We measure their ability to meet thresholds for Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Repayment, Persistence, and Loan Default rates for all students and specifically, for student veterans.
