Adult High School

Complete your high school credential

In Carteret CC’s Adult High School program, students complete the courses that they did not finish in high school to obtain the 22 credits required by the North Carolina Future Ready Core standards. Students take computer-based courses one at a time, and tuition for the courses is waived.

Graduates receive an Adult High School Diploma issued by Carteret Community College and the Carteret County Board of Education.  The AHS diploma is the equivalent of any public or private high school diploma.

Students are expected to attend an in-person orientation session before beginning the program.
Students are expected to complete 10 hours of work in their course each week and complete each course in about two months.
