
Manicurist
Program Overview
The Manicurist program provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the nail service industry. The program offers a simulated salon environment, enabling students to develop manipulative skills.
Minimum Admission Requirements
Prerequisites>
- Government Issued ID or Military ID Copy.
- Social Security Card Copy.
Program Hours
Coursework includes instruction in all phases of a professional manicurist, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other related topics.
Students must meet the NC Board of Cosmetic Arts Manicure/Nail Technology 300 clock-hour/performance requirements and complete Manicurist I and II courses to complete the Manicurist Program successfully.
This program typically takes 16 weeks to complete.
Program Outcomes
Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam after completing both Manicurist I & II successfully. Upon passing the state exam, graduates will be state-licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and nail salons, as platform artists, and in related businesses.
