Carteret Community College Hosts Free Classroom Opportunity

Respiratory Therapy student workingMorehead City, N.C. (March 2, 2022) – Carteret Community College (Carteret CC) invites the public to return to the classroom in its next lecture on March 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Wayne West Building room 222. This lecture will explore the respiratory therapy field and what Carteret CC’s Respiratory Therapy students are learning.

Trisha Miller, Carteret CC’s Respiratory Therapy Chair, will discuss Oxygen Transport, and how oxygen and carbon dioxide move between the lungs and tissues. This presentation will focus on how and why oxygen moves from the atmosphere to the tissues to become utilized by the tissues and maintain organ function.

“With COVID-19, respiratory therapy and the need to have more people in the field has been highlighted in the media,” stated Dr. Tracy Mancini, President of Carteret CC. “We thought this would be a great opportunity to showcase Carteret Community College’s respiratory therapy program. Trisha has a great hands-on lecture created, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

The lecture is free and open to the community. However, due to limited seating, reservations are required. To reserve a seat, visit the Sound Discoveries Lecture and Film Series webpage or call (252) 222-6268.

If you have questions about the Respiratory Therapy program, contact the Carteret CC at 252-222-6000.
