Second Annual Summer Concert

Two National Country Acts to Perform at Carteret CC

Morehead City, N.C. (March 7, 2023) – On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Carteret Community College Foundation will host the 2nd Annual WRNS Celebration on the Sound with presenting sponsors Crystal Coast Tourism Authority and Beaufort Hotel. The event will feature music Saturday night with national acts Chayce Beckham and Conner Smith, and local acts Bryan Mayer and Jake Sutton

“We are so excited to partner with WRNS this year to get their recommendations and assistance securing the talent. We are pleased with the two national acts and are happy to have their assistance,” said Brenda Reash, Carteret Community College Foundation Executive Director. “Our goal is to have a family-friendly event to raise money to help with students’ needs and improving the College’s programs. We are thankful to our presenting sponsors — the Crystal Coast Tourism Authority and Beaufort Hotel.”

 Concert Lineup

On Saturday, the parking lot opens at 3 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the concerts begin at 6 p.m. with local acts Bryan Mayer and Jake Sutton. The headlining act Chayce Beckham is the 2021 American Idol winner and named “2022 Artist to Watch” by Country Now, Country Swag, Music Mayhem Magazine, and Sounds Like Nashville. Beckham introduced audiences to his writing talent when he performed his song “23” on American Idol. He released the track, and it instantly shot to #1 on the iTunes chart. Beckham will be joining Luke Bryan on his tour this summer.

                     

Opening act Conner Smith is equally as talented and is known for his songs “Learn From It,” “Take It Slow,” “I Hate Alabama,” and “Orange and White.” Named one of Spotify’s Hot Country Artist to Watch for 2022 and Amazon Music’s 2022 Amazon Artist To Watch, Smith is the only Country act named to Pandora’s prestigious all-genre accolade (Artists To Watch 2022: The Pandora Ten list). Smith will also be joining the Luke Bryan tour this summer.

Tickets

Tickets to the concert are $25 each. Food trucks and beverages (including beer for those ages 21 and over) will be available for purchase.

Guests can also upgrade their ticket to VIP for an additional $100. The VIP upgrade will include all-you-can-eat food stations, free sodas and water, two alcoholic drink tickets, and a cash bar for any additional alcohol. VIP guests will have access to the Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center and its amenities including the restrooms and the patio. VIP guests will get one VIP parking pass with each order.
