Partnership Teach
Transfer to ECU with Partnership Teach
Partnership Teach is the affordable, online degree completion model offered by ECU’s College of Education to increase the number of high-quality teachers in local communities. Students begin by taking specific courses at Carteret CC and then transfer to ECU to complete one of four teaching degrees completely online. Students can graduate with a four-year degree in elementary education, middle grades education, or special education.
Benefits
Students graduate with a four-year degree from ECU by completing the first two years of the program at Carteret Community College followed by taking ECU courses online.
Throughout the program, students are placed in public school classrooms in or near their home communities to participate in learning opportunities related to their online coursework. A supervised, full-time internship in a public school classroom is required for all students in their senior year.

Find the checklist that you and your advisor have discussed and complete the community college courses.
Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) tests are required for application to ECU’s Partnership Teach model and later the Upper Division phase of the Teacher education programs at ECU. The 3 tests measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. Students may take Praxis tests at computer testing centers around the state.
Students should contact Educational Testing Service (ETS) at www.ets.org/praxis to schedule and pay for required tests.
Students will apply to the Partnership Teach program in their second year at Carteret CC. Deadlines vary based on degree and enrollment status.
