Voter registration

VOTER REGISTRATION & FREE CIVIC SEMINAR SERIES

Carteret Community College is proud once again to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 20th by hosting a voter registration campaign Monday, September 19th through Thursday, September 22nd. For the past several years, Carteret CC and the Student Government Association (SGA), the League of Women Voters of Carteret County, the NAACP Carteret County Branch, and the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship in Morehead City have formed a nonpartisan partnership to register voters and provide educational materials on the college campus during the month of September.

Voter registration is open to all Carteret CC students, U.S. Citizens and residents of North Carolina. Those interested may visit campus September 19-22 according to the schedule below to register.

Monday, Sept. 19 – Wednesday, Sept. 21 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. McGee Building, Wayne West Building, & Bryant Student Center
Monday, Sept. 19 – Tuesday, Sept. 20 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Wayne West Building & Bryant Student Center
Thursday, Sept. 22 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. McGee Building, Wayne West Building, & Bryant Student Center

 

Register to Vote adEarly voting information including dates and times for upcoming municipal elections will be available. “The College and Student Government Association are pleased to host the Voter Registration drive to promote civic engagement among students and in the community,” says Dr. Tracy Mancini, President of Carteret Community College. “Every eligible American voter should exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box, and getting registered on National Voter Registration Day is a great place to start”.

In addition to the Voter Registration Campaign, the League of Women Voters of Carteret County also invites the community to a free civic seminar series to learn about our local and county governments, and the election process. All seminars are held in-person at Carteret Community College in the Wayne West building Room 322 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The series will cover the following topics:

  • September 15 | Carteret County Government
  • September 29 | The Election Process – Safe and Secure Voting
  • October 13 | Municipal Government
