2025 Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment Open Sept. 30 – Oct. 25, 2024

It’s almost time! Open Enrollment for the 2025 benefit year will be held September 30 to October 25, 2024. As a reminder, starting January 1, 2025, the State Health Plan’s Third-Party Administrator (TOP) will transition from Blue Cross NC to Aetna. Open Enrollment information is now available on the State Health Plan’s website including “find a doctor” and upcoming events, which start in late August and continue through late October. Plan options are unchanged. Copays, deductible and premiums are NOT impacted by this change and are NOT changing, nor is the pharmacy benefit administrator changing.

You MUST TAKE ACTION on the following items:

• Enroll in the desired plan at the lowest possible premium

• Re-select your Primary Care Provider (PCP) in order to keep enjoying lower copays when visiting that provider. Please note, your medical doctor/provider information will not carry over to 2025.

The State Health Plan has scheduled several webinars and Telephone Town Halls for member health plan information. Members who are tobacco users and want to earn their monthly $60 premium credit for 2025 don’t have to wait until Open Enrollment this fall. They can take action now to save money throughout 2025!  Tobacco users can attend a tobacco cessation counseling session at their Primary Care Provider’s (PCP) office for FREE to earn a lower premium for 2025. You have until Nov. 30, 2024, to take action. (Note: If you combine your tobacco cessation visit with another service, there may be a copay.)  This convenient option means there’s no need to wait for Open Enrollment in October to secure your monthly premium credit for 2025.  Be sure to request a copy of your visit summary and upload it in the Document Center located in eBenefits.

If you are NOT a tobacco user, you will simply attest to that online during Open Enrollment, September 30 to October 25, 2024.

HR will offer 2 in-person opportunities to learn about the 2025 State Health Plan benefits and NC Flex benefits during presentations in Joslyn Hall on Monday, September 30^th  and Monday, October 7^th,  We will also offer 13 opportunities to visit an “enrollment lab” if you need our assistance with your enrollment.

All State Health Plan members will receive a new 2025 ID card which will be mailed out in December.  2024 State Health Plan ID cards will not work after December 31, 2024.
