Alum spotlight shines bright

Culinary graduate to be featured in Beaufort Wine & Food Spring Festival

Executive Chef Geneveive GuthrieMorehead City, N.C. (April 7, 2022) – The alum spotlight is shining bright this month on one of Carteret CC’s FIRST Culinary Arts graduates, Executive Chef Geneveive Guthrie, as she prepares to host her first ever dinner at the Beaufort Wine & Food Spring Festival on April 27.

“To be asked to host a dinner during the spring festival is a huge honor,” said Executive Chef Guthrie. “Beaufort Wine and Food is known statewide for featuring the most talented and innovative chefs and winemakers, both locally and nationally. Their events take the culinary experience to the next level and I am incredibly humbled to be asked to participate this spring.”

A graduate of the Culinary Arts program at Carteret Community College, Guthrie is now the Executive Chef at the Coral Bay Club in Atlantic Beach. On April 27, she will host one of the festival’s Wine Dinners at the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center at the college. Executive Chef Guthrie will be joined by guest chef Ashley Moser of Cypress Hall in New Bern and winemaker Guy Davis of Davis Family Vineyards in Healdsburg, CA.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host this dinner at the college’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center,” Executive Chef Guthrie says. “The college has played such a monumental part in my culinary journey, career, and success. I’m dedicating this dinner and opportunity to the college and every instructor that helped me along the way because without them I wouldn’t be here. This dinner will be one for the books!”

Tickets to attend Executive Chef Guthrie’s wine dinner on April 27 can be purchased at www.beaufortwineandfood.org.
