Experience the Magic of Creativity

Carteret Community College is thrilled to invite the community to Celebration of the Arts, a dynamic, week-long event filled with creativity, inspiration, and artistic expression!

From April 28 to May 2, the campus will transform into a hub of artistic energy, featuring captivating exhibitions, engaging artist talks, and thought-provoking discussions—all designed to bring the arts to life.

Event Highlights:

 Monday, April 28 – Opening Reception & Art Exhibition

The celebration kicks off with the Opening Reception from 4:30-6:30 pm on April 28th for the annual Carteret CC Student Art and Photography Exhibition. This stunning showcase of talent will be open April 28–May 2 in the Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center. For the first time, the exhibition will also feature high school AP art students, offering a glimpse into the future of the art world!

 

Tuesday, April 29  – Artist Talk with Renowned Ceramicist Carrie Longley

Prepare to be inspired as Carrie Longley, an award-winning ceramicist and professor at Indiana University East, shares her artistic journey from 6-7 pm during our session of Artist Talk. Longley’s mesmerizing sculptures blur the lines between art and science, transforming clay into breathtaking forms that challenge our perception of the natural world.

 

 

 

 

Wednesday, April 30 – Award-Winning Photojournalist Jim Loring

Join us from 6-7 pm for an unforgettable Artist Talk with internationally recognized photojournalist Jim Loring. With over 70 global assignments, Loring’s work captures powerful stories of resilience, adventure, and the human spirit. His images shed light on global issues, including climate change, refugee experiences, and the fight for basic human rights.

 

 

This incredible week of art, storytelling, and inspiration is completely FREE and open to the public! Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a student, or simply curious about creative expression, Carteret CC invites you to be part of this unforgettable celebration!
