Career & College Promise

Earn college credit in high school for FREE!

Carteret CC’s Career & College Promise (CCP) program offers eligible high school students the opportunity to earn credits toward a college degree or a credential for employment – tuition-free. In many cases, students earn dual credit, meeting high school graduation requirements with college courses.

CCP offers students the opportunity to explore more than 30 academic programs, saving them and their families money on college tuition while also lightening their future course load in college. Students get a feel of the “college experience,” and they can boost their admissions profile by demonstrating they are ready for the rigors of college-level classes.

For students not interested in pursuing a college degree, CCP provides a jump-start to career plans, job training, skills, and certifications.

At Carteret CC, high school students can earn tuition-free college credits through two different pathways. Review pathway eligibility and find the one that best suits you and your future educational goals!

College Transfer

Designed for students who plan to attend a four-year institution, the College Transfer Pathway (CTP) lets you complete college-level classes while you’re in high school that will transfer seamlessly to any school within the University of North Carolina System or participating private college or university.

Career & Technical Education

Made for students who know the industry they want to pursue after high school, the Career & Technical Education Pathway (CTE) enables you to take courses that count toward a certificate, diploma, or state or industry-recognized workforce credential.

Pathways

After deciding on a pathway, complete the CFNC CCP Application. The application only needs to be completed once as a CCP student.

Upon high school graduation, CCP students wishing to continue at Carteret CC should apply to the college as a “New” student.

Complete the Parent/Student Agreement and submit completed forms to [email protected].

Homeschool/Private school students only – send official high school transcripts and other eligibility info if needed to [email protected].  Eligibility documentation is needed every registration period for the upcoming semester.
