Campus Week of Giving

Four years ago, Carteret Community College (Carteret CC) started a Robotics Team. Carteret CC’s team may be the smallest team in the state, but that hasn’t stopped them from competing and qualifying for the state competition twice!

“Our students are very fortunate to have this opportunity thanks to funding from the Foundation,” said Patrick Dineley, Carteret CC Chair of Information Technology & Healthcare Informatics and the team’s coach. “This robotics team provides our students a hands-on extracurricular activity that will offer them real-world skills.”

The robotics team competed in the FIRST Robotics competitions in North Carolina. The FIRST Robotics competition is a program run by an organization named For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be leaders in science and technology by engaging them in mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, while also building self-esteem, life skills, and community awareness.

Thank you to all our employees for your dedication and commitment to Carteret CC. Together, we can build a better future for Carteret.
