Wolfpack Connect
A Historic Day at Carteret Community College
Chancellor Howell Visits for Wolfpack Connect Signing
Today was truly a day to remember at Carteret Community College. We had the honor of welcoming NC State University Chancellor Howell to our campus for the official signing of the Wolfpack Connect partnership. This moment felt especially meaningful, as Carteret CC is the first and only community college where the Chancellor has personally attended a Wolfpack Connect signing ceremony. His presence brought an energy and sincerity that touched everyone who was there to witness it.
A Campus Filled With Excitement and Support
From the moment the event began, the atmosphere on campus was buzzing with excitement. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members gathered in impressive numbers to witness this historic signing. Laughter, photos, and Wolfpack hand signs filled the room as guests celebrated the new partnership and the opportunities it brings for Carteret CC students.
What made the day even more memorable was the strong presence of leaders from across the region. We were honored to welcome:
- Superintendent Richie Paylor
- Senator Norm Sanderson
- Ed Stack, NC State Board of Trustees
- Michelle Pittman and Nathan Rowland, NC State Havelock Engineering
- Commissioner Chadwick
- Board of Education Member Chadwick
- Commissioner David Quinn
- Members of the Carteret CC Board of Trustees and the Carteret CC Foundation Board
Their support reflects the importance of this initiative not only for Carteret CC, but for the broader community we serve.
What Wolfpack Connect Means for Carteret CC Students
The Wolfpack Connect program represents a powerful new pathway for our students. Through this guaranteed admissions partnership with NC State University, students can begin their academic journey at Carteret CC, earn their associate degree, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and secure guaranteed transfer admission into one of NC State’s 100+ eligible majors.
This initiative makes higher education more accessible and affordable for North Carolinians. It allows students to stay close to home, save money, and still pursue a seamless transition to one of the state’s leading research universities.
Chancellor Howell’s visit reinforced just how committed NC State is to strengthening opportunities for students in coastal North Carolina. His engagement with our campus community made the partnership feel not just official, but deeply collaborative and full of promise.

A Celebration of Partnership and Promise
The Wolfpack Connect signing ceremony was more than just a formal event — it was a celebration of collaboration, student success, and a shared vision for the future. The smiles, the photos, and the enthusiastic Wolfpack gestures captured the spirit of the day. It was a reminder of what’s possible when institutions work together to open doors and create brighter futures for students.
Carteret Community College is proud to join Wolfpack Connect, and we are deeply grateful to Chancellor Howell and all our guests for making this milestone unforgettable. We look forward to seeing our students take advantage of this exciting new partnership and continue their academic journeys as part of the Wolfpack.
