“School’s Out STEAM” (S.O.S) Youth Camps

Carteret Community College proudly launches “School’s Out STEAM” (S.O.S.) Youth Camps in 2025. These camps give parents fun and educational childcare options on teacher workdays, school holidays, and breaks. Each camp centers on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) topics.

The first day camp kicks off on Tuesday, January 21, in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The MLK Day STEAM Camp provides childcare for students in grades 4th-6th from 9 AM to 4 PM. This engaging school holiday camp honors Dr. King’s legacy by showcasing the contributions of Black innovators in STEAM fields.

Campers will explore the achievements of these remarkable individuals, learning about their groundbreaking work and its impact on society. Through hands-on activities, interactive projects, and group challenges, participants will discover these influential figures and develop their own creativity and problem-solving skills.

The camp includes lunch and offers early drop-off and late pick-up for families needing extra childcare support.

Register today for just $20 per camper! The registration deadline is Friday, January 17. Visit the College’s website or email Jared Jones at [email protected] for more information.

In addition to the MLK Day Camp, Carteret CC will join the Day of Service on Monday, January 20, at Crystal Bluffs Nursing Home in Morehead City to honor Dr. King’s impact.

Carteret County Public Schools are closed for students from Monday, January 20, through Wednesday, January 22.
