Public Safety
Carteret Community College Law & Public Safety program area offers career paths for students ready to make a difference serving their communities. Students who are interested in fire science, emergency communications, criminal justice, law enforcement, and the legal system should explore these options. We also offer a number of courses for first responders already in the service looking to renew existing certifications.
Whether your plan is to earn an associate degree, transfer credits to a four-year college/university, or take a short course to renew an existing certification, Carteret CC has options to meet your needs.
911 Communications & Operations
The 911 Communication and Operations curriculum is designed to provide new students, as well as current practitioners, with knowledge and skills in the areas necessary for entrance or advancement within emergency communications.
Basic Law Enforcement Training
Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) is designed to give students essential skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement.
