Big Rock Career Center

The Big Rock Career Center houses training and employment services for Carteret Community College students, as well as for members of the general public.  NCWorks, which provides assistance to those seeking and applying for work, occupies the majority of the building.  In addition to employment services, NCWorks also provides assistance to Veterans and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act participants.

NC Career Coaches, who serve both high school students interested in attending Carteret Community College, and Career and College Promise students, also have their offices in the Center.  They work with high school students to identify their interests and skills, create plans for post-secondary training and education, and assist them in putting those plans in motion.

Those who visit the Center are able to participate in career assessment testing, explore new careers, hunt for jobs, prepare resumes, and practice for interviews.

Additional career advisory services are available to returning students through the MAPS Center.
