Voter Registration Drive

Morehead City, N.C. (September 12, 2023) – Carteret Community College is proud once again to be a National Voter Registration Day partner and host a voter registration campaign Monday, September 18th through Thursday, September 21.

Carteret CC and the Student Government Association (SGA) along with the League of Women Voters of Carteret County, Democracy NC, the NAACP Carteret County Branch and the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship in Morehead City have formed a nonpartisan partnership to register voters and provide educational materials on the college’s campus located at 3505 Arendell St., Morehead City.

Carteret CC students, US Citizens, and residents of North Carolina are invited to register to vote at times and locations as follows:

Information will be available for voters on the new Photo ID requirements, new guidelines on absentee ballot voting, and early voting dates and hours for the coming municipal elections. Voters will also be able to look up their registration if necessary.

On Thursday, September 21 from 6-8 PM the public is invited to a free seminar on Voting – New Rules – What You Need to Know to Vote in 2023 in Joslyn Hall. Refreshments will be served.

“This year, with changes to the voter ID requirements, we are especially glad to partner with the League of Women Voters to help educate as many students and community members as possible about their voting rights,” says Dr. Tracy Mancini, President of Carteret Community College. “Members of the League do a great job of providing non-partisan information and voter resources so voters can make up their own minds and exercise their right and privilege to vote.”
