Fall 2022 Tuition & Fees Assistance (TFA)

Carteret CC has chosen to dedicate $200,000 towards a Fall 2022 Tuition & Fee Assistance (TFA) Program!

At Carteret CC we want to make it possible for degree seeking students to come to school this fall with NO out-of-pocket expenses for in-state tuition or fees. So we’ve chosen to allocate $200,000 of our remaining institutional relief funds for students this fall to help remove financial barriers for as many students as possible.

How to Qualify for Fall 2022 TFA

COMPLETE A   |   2022 – 2023 FAFSA

Complete a 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by August 1, 2022.
Students DO NOT need to be Pell eligible to receive Fall 2022 TFA; however, a 2022-2023 FAFSA application MUST be completed so that Carteret CC can match students with grants, scholarships, and other awards.

Additional Information

What funds will cover my tuition and fee expenses?

Carteret CC will evaluate each student’s needs and apply funds according to a last dollar funding model. Federal Pell Grants are applied first to those who are eligible. If an outstanding balance remains on a student’s account after Pell is applied OR if the student is not Pell eligible, then a Financial Aid representative will attempt to match the student with additional grants and/or scholarships and apply these funds second.

If an in-state tuition and/or college fee balance still remains, or if the student does not qualify for grants and/or scholarships, then funds from the available $200,000 Fall 2022 TFA program may be applied directly to the student’s account to cover any remaining fall 2022 in-state tuition and/or fee expenses.

The Fall 2022 TFA program is available to students for as long as the $200,000 lasts. Fall 2022 TFA funds are not guaranteed, and student TFA Verification Forms will be evaluated in the order they are received upon the student’s completion of steps 1-4 above.

Please note out-of-state students are not eligible for the TFA program.
