Carteret CC will continue the Tuition & Fee Assistance (TFA) Program for Spring 2023!
At Carteret CC we want to make it possible for degree seeking students to come to school this spring with NO out-of-pocket expenses for in-state tuition or fees. So we’ve chosen to allocate our remaining institutional relief funds for students this spring to help remove financial barriers for as many students as possible.
COMPLETE A | 2022 – 2023 FAFSA
Complete a 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1, 2022.
Students DO NOT need to be Pell eligible to receive Spring 2023 TFA; however, a 2022-2023 FAFSA application MUST be completed so that Carteret CC can match students with grants, scholarships, and other awards. *Please note* 2020 tax information is used for the 2022-2023 FAFSA.
Students are also encouraged to apply for local college scholarships.

REGISTER | FOR SPRING 2023 CLASSES
Students MUST register for Spring 2023 classes BEFORE submitting the TFA Verification Form
COMPLETE | SPRING 2023 TFA VERIFICATION FORM
The TFA Verification Form AND FAFSA Application must be completed by DECEMBER 1, 2022 for Spring 2023 TFA consideration.
TFA Verification Forms will be evaluated in the order they are received. TFA funds needed to cover remaining tuition and/or fees will be applied after all other aid has been awarded including, but not limited to Pell, grants, scholarships, and other federal, state, and local awards.
The Spring 2023 TFA Application has CLOSED. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for information regarding other assistance programs.
What funds will cover my tuition and fee expenses?
Carteret CC will evaluate each student’s needs and apply funds according to a last dollar funding model. Federal Pell Grants are applied first to those who are eligible. If an outstanding balance remains on a student’s account after Pell is applied OR if the student is not Pell eligible, then a Financial Aid representative will attempt to match the student with additional grants and/or scholarships and apply these funds second.
If an in-state tuition and/or college fee balance still remains, or if the student does not qualify for grants and/or scholarships, then Spring 2023 TFA funds may be applied directly to the student’s account to cover any remaining spring 2023 in-state tuition and/or fee expenses.
The Spring 2023 TFA program is available while funds lasts. Spring 2023 TFA funds are not guaranteed, and student TFA Verification Forms will be evaluated in the order they are received upon the student’s completion of steps 1-4 above.
Please note out-of-state students are not eligible for the TFA program.
