Six local companies looking to hire at Carteret CC job fair Carteret Community College, in partnership with NCWorks will hold a hiring event on Tuesday, October 25 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Wednesday, October 26 from 4-7 p.m. at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. The job fair will feature six local employers including Bally Refrigerated Boxes, Frank Door Company, Jarrett Bay Boatworks, Parker Offshore, Veneer Technologies, and Winter Custom Yacht. Student Receives Foundation Support to Complete Education Contributed by: Carteret CC Foundation Morehead City, N.C. (September 21, 2022) – Ryan Schallock is a second year student in the Emergency Medical Services program and is the recipient of the Bunn Family Foundation Scholarship. Ryan served five years in the U.S. Marine Corp as a military police officer prior to becoming an EMT. In 2019, Ryan began his career as an EMT. When he entered the field, he learned that the field was actually his dad’s first career. Ryan’s dad passed away in 2015 and never knew his son followed in his footsteps. “My dad is the one that pushed me to help people and really epitomized what I try to do in this career field to this day,” Ryan explained. You Belong Here Carteret Community College in partnership with the Eastern Carolina Injury Prevention Program at ECU Health Medical Center invite the public to view the documentary "You Belong Here" a celebration of LGBTQ+ resilience and the impact of allyship on inclusive belonging in the Rural South on Wednesday, September 28th in Joslyn Hall. The documentary will be shown at both 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Joslyn Hall in the McGee Building on the campus followed by a brief panel discussion on topics including suicide, homophobia, self-harm, and mental health. Carteret CC To Hold 9/11 Commemoration Carteret Community College invites the public to attend a brief commemoration in observance of September 11, 2001, on Thursday, September 8. This event is being held in advance during college business hours to give our college community an opportunity to participate. The program will start promptly at 8:45 a.m. on the front lawn of the Historic Camp Glenn (Foundation) Building. American flags will be made available during the ceremony and throughout the day to plant along Celebration Square adjacent to the College's 9/11 memorial. Carteret Community College Adds Second Nursing Cohort Morehead City, N.C. (August 31, 2022) – The North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) has approved Carteret Community College to increase enrollment in its Associate Degree Nursing program from 50 to 100 total students. For the first time ever, Carteret CC will offer a spring start date creating two nursing cohorts within the same academic year. “Nursing shortages continue to threaten hospitals across the country including our own,” says Camella Marcom, chair of the ADN program at Carteret CC. “By offering two start dates into the ADN program, we can graduate twice as many nurses and help close the labor gap.” Carteret CC started the Associate Degree Nursing program in 2005 with its first graduating class in 2007 and was awarded accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)...

VOTER REGISTRATION & FREE CIVIC SEMINAR SERIES Carteret Community College is proud once again to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 20th by hosting a voter registration campaign Monday, September 19th through Thursday, September 22nd. For the past several years, Carteret CC and the Student Government Association (SGA), the League of Women Voters of Carteret County, the NAACP Carteret County Branch, and the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship in Morehead City have formed a nonpartisan partnership to register voters and provide educational materials on the college campus during the month of September. Women in Business Vendor Expo Morehead City, N.C. (August 17, 2022) - On Saturday, August 27, 2022, the For ME (Minority Entrepreneur) Networking Group, in partnership with Carteret Community College’s Small Business Center will host a Women in Business Vendor Expo on the college’s campus between 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. to highlight female-led businesses in Carteret County.  The community is invited to attend the expo to browse and shop from local vendors selling various goods including food, apparel, sweets, botanicals, jewelry, art, homemade décor, and much more. Carteret Community College Hosts Local Restaurants to Benefit Students Morehead City, N.C. (June 22, 2022) – Carteret Community College will host its annual Savour the Summer Soiree dinner series beginning next week. The dinner series will pair a local restaurant with a local brewery, distillery, or distributor for a night attendees will not forget. Guests will enjoy fine dining, crafted spirits, and great company at each event.
